It's almost spring, my favorite season when you get to wear almost everything. No more chunky clothes, no more ugly boots. Goodbye!
Hello to bright sneakers, ballet flats, sandals, flirty skirts and light jackets! :)
Of course, this is the time when I usually start preparing myself for some closet organization - old stuff out, new stuff in. Let's see how you can do it most efficiently and onyour budget.
1. MAKE A WISH LIST
First of all, I make a list of things that I'd like to wear this season using websites like Zara, Forever 21, Bershka etc. You can do that too with your favorite brands that you can afford.
2. CALCULATE
After that calculate how much all of those things will cost you. Then compare with the amount you are willing to spend. Mismatch? I can bet! But then it's time for our next step:
3. RATIONALIZATION
It's time to spend some time in your closet. But only to do the hardest thing - to realize how many clothes you actually have. Yes, you do have five skirts you wore only few times and no, you don't need six more! Yes, runways were full of so many cool new things and no, you don't have to be a fashion slave! Let's be real. Think of the things you really need in your closet and make sure you already have something that goes with it. I know, that shirt looks great, but if buying it means that you'll spend extra cash for a skirt that goes with it - just forget it.
4.PRIORITIZATION
This means - make another list. Now that you know what you want and what you really need and how much you can spend, make a final list and if necessary, print it. That is how you will restrain yourself from buying stuff you don't need.
5. GO SHOPPING!
Make sure you get the most of your list and be ready for compromises - some thing won't fit you properly but it's not the end of the world. Just find something similar.
P.S. If you get some extra money, you can buy that gorgeous piece that you'll wear only once ;)
